Olímpica acquired three supermarkets in the city of Cali, Colombia

The company gained market share in the city where chain La 14 leads the retail sector.

Colombian retailer Olimpica acquired three Super Tigres supermarkets in Cali, in order to increase its market share in the city where chain La 14 is the leading brand in the retail sector.

With this recent acquisition, Olimpica went from controling 17.6% of Cali's market to 18.1%, reducing the gap with rival La 14. Likewise, just like Exito, the company is focusing on getting closer to customers that shop at neighborhood stores not by alliances but through the acquisition of small store chains located in neighborhoods.
